CIPT 4.1 642-444 and CIPT 5.0 642-445:: CallManager 5.0
Hi,

I have had quite a deal of experience with CCM 5.X. Couple of things.

1. Make sure you have the minimum hardware specs.

2. If its an upgrade from CCM 4.1.3 DMA will most likely be the biggest pain. Run it on the Friday night verify that its ok, then go back on Saturday and upgrade to CCM 5.X. Remember you can't pop disks on a CCM 5.X upgrade as it requires both disks to be in for the installation to work.

3. Install a minimum of CCM 5.0.4 and then apply the latest patch. Try and use CCM 5.1.1 if you have it available. There are a couple of bugs with the Attendant Console, Call Forward and some minor web interface issues in the early versions.

4. If you have Unity you will need to update the Unity TSP unless the version is already high enough.

5. Will have to reinstall Attendant Console.

Otherwise its pretty smooth. If its a clean install on a new server it will be a piece of cake. Just take some time to check things out after the install as the web interface has changed a little and OS administration (upgrades etc.) are done through the web. Also SSH in and check out the console.

One last thing. Make sure you install RTMT and get very familiar with that. RTMT is the best way to view logs under CCM 5.X (can view via CLI but slower).

Ken.
